Last week, Murphey Parker and I collaborated on a video project for art class at Millsaps. Basically we took Murphey’s drawing, vectorized it, then animated it in Apple Motion. We then applied color effects and sound in FCP and installed. The installation was in a small gallery room at Millsaps College for four days. You’ll find a large white cloth raising from the floor to the ceiling as a “ramp,” weighted by several mirrors on the floor (self reflection). Ambient music provided a relaxing feel and mood to the entire experience. Please comment or ask questions.
I created this video in Modul8 while learning it on the first day. It is very hypnotic! The sounds were originally by TTOCCS REKARP but I distorted them on my own to fit the video.

Thursday, October 2nd from 6 to 9pm, One to One Studios in the Millsaps Arts District hosts Indulge The Derivative: Layering/Tunneling/Terrain,a multimedia art installation designed to creatively explore the connection between perception and Reality. Local artists Clay Hardwick and daniel johnson use music, film, dance, paint, and miscellaneous hardware to construct an experience which explores the individuals search to creatively connect perception and Reality. Audiences will move within an exhibit viewing works inspired by self-imposed challenges and processes. The challenges and processes were designed to transmute limits from the artists everyday world into physical markings and directions which the artists could then interpret in a variety of mediums. The show will be viewable the night of opening and by appointment until October 11th. One to One Studios is located at 121 Millsaps Avenue in the Millsaps Arts District. ALSO, there will be a small gift shop with this show, offering original t-shirt designs, tote bags, prints, miniatures, and a DVD documenting the entire process behind this installation, including the finished products and collected videos.
Something I created recently in Apple Motion. These are drawings taken from the upcoming installation, “Indulge the Derivative” with friend, daniel johnson and myself at 121 Studio.
